With a foundation rooted in a cum laude MBBCh degree and an MSc in Medicine (Neurology) from South Africa, Dr. Jina Swartz furthered her expertise with a PhD from the University of Cambridge. She has excelled in translating complex research into actionable, patient-focused solutions in neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Swartz’s career spans significant roles in academic neurology at prestigious institutions like Imperial and Kings Colleges London and extensive leadership in global neuroscience clinical development at major pharmaceutical companies including Merck, Takeda, Eisai, and GSK. She has driven the development and registration of groundbreaking treatments across various phases of clinical trials, focusing on rare neurological disorders. Recently, as Chief Medical Officer for Prilenia and Exciva, Dr. Swartz led strategic initiatives that advanced the field of neurology and enriched patient outcomes. Her esteemed career is marked by her election as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and her active participation on the boards of several influential healthcare organizations.
